an idea- (local) nebulas of different shapes- they could give single solar-systems a "face" while acting as tactical environment, or span parts of the eve-galaxy adjusting your background everytime you are in a system within.

I think I read somewhere about more POS stuff in future with direct tactical effects... a small structure you can anchor that does shield sharing (remote invField/shieldRecharge) for up to maybe 3/5 ships beining able to secure them?
